Stop refreshing
A vendor portal is down, a registration site crashed under load, or a service you depend on is "undergoing maintenance". Put the URL in the form above, turn on is down and is up, and go do something else. When it answers again, you'll get UP example.com after 2h 14m by email, SMS, or webhook.
How "up" works
- We mark a URL down after 2 consecutive failed checks (timeout, DNS, TLS, 5xx, 408 or 425; 429 needs 3).
- The next successful check after that sends one "up" alert with how long it was down.
- We never send "up" for the first check of a new watch. If the site is already healthy, you hear nothing until something happens.
- If the site flaps up and down, alerts for the same kind are spaced at least 30 minutes apart, and a burst triggers a single "pausing for 24h" message instead of a flood.
"Back up" but still broken?
Some sites return a 200 with a maintenance message. Leave changes on as well: when the maintenance text is replaced by the real page, the text changes and you get a change alert with an excerpt of what's new.
How fast will I know?
Starter checks every 15 minutes, Plus every 5 minutes (plus up to 30 seconds of jitter so we don't hit sites on the exact minute). So on Starter you'll typically hear within 15 minutes of the site recovering.
Honest limits
- We watch the HTML we receive. Pages that only render their content with JavaScript (many single-page apps, some store stock widgets) are not supported: we would see an empty shell.
- We watch the whole page's text, not a CSS selector. Pages with rotating quotes, "5 minutes ago" labels, view counters or ads that change the text on every load will alert often. After a burst of alerts we pause that watch for 24 hours and email you a resume link.
- No logins, cookies, or pages behind a paywall. Public URLs on ports 80/443 only, up to 2 MB.
- No free plan. Cancel anytime in the Stripe customer portal.
Pricing
